The completion of the Alghero municipal swimming pool was commissioned by the Municipality of Alghero to the company COEDIL SUD. The planned works included the completion of an outdoor pool equipped for swimming and water polo. The construction work required for completion primarily included modernization and restoration of the structures, infill walls, and finishes, installation of new floors, construction of stairs, false ceilings, systems, and pool consolidation work.

In particular, during construction, a structural failure was detected along the short side (25 meters) of the pool, consisting of a crack affecting the existing edge beam, vertical walls, and pool bottom. To repair this failure, the entire edge beam and the underlying walls (along the entire perimeter) were surrounded with a double layer of 10 cm thick carbon fiber (1200 g/m2), polymerized with epoxy resin and supplemented with resin injections to bond the detachment. A piling was also built near the outside of the tank to contain the soil prism located beneath the tank bottom (25 m x 10.80 m).
