The contract involves the redevelopment of the Sassari Provincial Palace through structural health and safety renovations. The works commissioned by the Province of Sassari to the company COEDIL SUD are currently underway. The imposing building, an important national architectural monument, built between 1873 and 1890 to a design by engineer Giovanni Borgnini, is part of the monumental redevelopment of Piazza d'Italia, the most important square in the 19th-century city. The dramatic appearance of the sloping square was partially mitigated by the construction of the facing staircase.
