The building is located in the southern part of the San Ferdinando neighborhood, on Pizzofalcone hill. The integrated contract awarded to COEDIL SUD included the partial demolition, adaptation, and reconstruction of a portion of the building, intended to serve as a reading room for the library, and structural work on the portion of the historic masonry building overlooking Piazza S.M. degli Angeli and Via San Gennaro Serra.
